The last stamp club that I hosted was focused on the Humming Along bundle and four different kinds of card bases. We all had a great time making the different cards and using the very versatile Humming Along products. After all – who doesn’t like hummingbirds and flowers, right?
Take a look at the picture below. This is the beautiful gate-fold card that we made.
The gate-fold card style is definitely one that you should have in your back pocket of card designs. It is quick, easy, and really packs a fun punch! The card base for the gate fold card is made with a piece of card stock cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″. Scores are made at the 2 3/4″ and 8 1/4″ on the 11″ side. The picture below gives you a “cheat sheet” for the score lines. You’ll notice that I suggest flipping the paper and scoring at 2 3/4″ on each end!
The gate-fold is made by folding the side, scored pieces into the middle of the card. The picture below helps illustrate that folding.
There are many ways to decorate your gate-fold card. This style is appropriate for any and all occasions! And, the card will literally stand up on its own – too fun!
To get some additional tips on how to finish the card, please reference my previous post for a shadow box card using the same same set.
Shown below are the main products that I used to create the Humming Along gate-fold card. If you click on any picture, you’ll go to my on-line store.
In my next post, I will share the amazing Z-fold card that we made featuring the Humming Along bundle.
Happy stamping!
