If you’re like me, you occasionally forget which stamp sets are in the current catalogs and which stamp sets have been retired 🙂 The card that I’m posting today is one of those occasions for me! I was so excited about using the beautiful Wishing You Well stamp set that I truly forgot to make sure it is still in the Annual Catalog. Well – it’s not 🙁 But, I really thought this card is too pretty not to share. And, I bet you have a flower stamp set (or maybe two) that can be used to create a similar card with the same beautiful autumn colors. Please forgive me for showing this retired set.
The colors that I used to create the focal bouquet for this card are – Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, and Soft Suede. I think they really work together well for a very pretty fall themed card.
The thick Whisper White card base is the backdrop for a large frame piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock, cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″. I used a piece of retired DSP to highlight the color of the stamped ribbon on the bouquet. Choose a piece of DSP that will work for you and cut it to 5″ x 3 3/4″.
Find one of your favorite “happy birthday” stamps (or whatever sentiment you are using) and use Blackberry Bliss ink to stamp the sentiment on the bottom right of your piece of DSP, as shown.
Use a medium die from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies collection to cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock. This will be adhered to your DSP with a few dimensionals. You can add a little bling to this piece by adding some ribbon. The ribbon I used is from an old Paper Pumpkin kit. I LOVE using extra pieces from my Paper Pumpkin kits to embellish cards.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock (at least 3″ x 4 1/2″), stamp your flower die. If you’re using the Wishing You Well stamp set and want to use the colors that I did, here they are: The bouquet is stamped in Mossy Meadow. One set of the flowers is Blackberry Bliss. The second set of flowers is Cajun Craze. The bow is stamped in Soft Suede.
Die cut the flower focal point with one of the larger dies from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies collection. Use dimensionals to add the flower piece to the card, as pictured. Tip: Only use the dimensionals on the back of the top and bottom of the flower piece.
If you want to add a little bling to your card, put a few sequins or pearls in the bouquet, as pictured. I think the final touch adds just enough to finish the card.
Below you’ll find the main products that I used to create this card. Again – Please note that the Wishing You Well stamp set is retired. However, if you are fortunate enough to own that stamp set, I hope you use this card for inspiration. Click on any of the products pictured below, and you’ll go to my on-line store.
Happy stamping,
Laurie
