There is something magical about a shaker card! And, this cute card is a perfect example of simple fun and color. It actually shows off all the new In-Colors!
When I got to page 16 of the new Annual Catalog, I truly paused and took in all the possibilities in creating with the Bottled Happiness Bundle. First – I love punch bundles! They are so portable and quick. Second – Add in the Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes and the Effervescent Elements (isn’t that just fun to say), and you get the magic of a really unique shaker card. Then, look at the stamp set. The images and sentiments give us so many options. Yup – the possibilities are endless!
Take a closer look at the card. The five new In-Colors work together so well. Each one is beautiful on its own. Combined, they are just stunning!
Below is a link to a video that will go through step-by-step how to make this card. There are some fun tips and tricks included about how to work with the shaker domes. If you don’t have the shaker domes, don’t worry. There is also a great way to make a shaker card without the shaker dome!
After the video, you’ll see a list of the paper dimensions that you’ll need to make the card.
Here are the details for the paper that I used for this card –
- Card base – Basic white card stock cut to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side. This is an A2 size card base.
- Frame – Parakeet Party card stock cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Focal point – Basic white card stock cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″. After this piece is punched and stamped, it gets trimmed down by cutting 1/2″ off the left side.
- DSP – Piece of the Parakeet Party paper from the In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP Assortment cut to 2″ x 3″.
- That’s all the paper you need!!
I hope you give this fun shaker card a try. It really is easy to put together and just a pretty way to brighten someone’s day!
