Staying at home over the last several weeks certainly has changed our lives. For me, it has meant being more creative in making meals, starting a vegetable and herb garden in our front yard, and trying to appreciate each day for the simple gifts that it brings. Being able to connect with friends has definitely proven to be challenging; however, I am so thankful for technology that allows us to visit virtually. I’ve been able to hold virtual monthly stamp club meetings, monthly demonstrator team meetings, and recently introduced Mystery Stamping. That has been incredibly fun!
If you haven’t tried Mystery Stamping, consider yourself invited to give it a go. The card that I am sharing through this month’s NC Demos Blog Hop is a variation of a design that I showed in my last post. You will literally go through the steps of Mystery Stamping if you read through that original post. Please check that post for all the dimensions for my original card and the card that I am sharing below. There are only a few pieces that you’ll need to prep to make the lattice card! The dog image below is the one I use to introduce my Mystery Stamping events. He is just too cute!
Below are pictures of the card that I am sharing in this month’s blog hop. It will likely be the card that I will send to my mom for Mother’s Day.
There are only a few differences between my original card and the card that I am sharing now.
- The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock.
- The vertical pieces attached to the front of the card are spaced much closer together. This allowed me enough room to squeeze in the longer sentiment on the inside of the card.
- The vertical pieces are also embossed. This highlights a fun, quick technique called inlaid embossing. Below are a few pictures that visually show what I did.
- First, I adhered the Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the Petal Pink colored cardstock. The DSP is part of the retiring Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper collection. I LOVE this set! And, will definitely get a few more packages before they are gone.
- Next, I placed the larger border Rococo Rose cardstock pieces inside the beautiful and retiring Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder (EF). This EF is absolutely amazing!
- Then, I put the adhered Petal Pink and Pressed Petals DSP piece on top of the Rococo Rose cardstock and ran the three layers (Rococo Rose cardstock, Petal Pink cardstock, and DSP) through my embossing machine.
- Since the Rococo Rose pieces are not adhered to the Petal Pink cardstock, I was able to separate them.
- When I assembled the pieces for the card, I used dimensionals to adhere the layered Petal Pink and DSP piece over the Rococo Rose pieces. I tried to align the pieces to match the embossed design. The result was a very vibrant accent to the design.
The sentiment stamps are from the April Paper Pumpkin kit, “My Wonderful Family”. And, the bling that I added came from “leftovers” from previous Paper Pumpkin kits. I used Night of Navy ink to stamp the sentiment.
