Double DSP Card!

I have a question for you!  When you get a new package of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the design is just absolutely gorgeous, how long does it take you to actually cut the paper?!?  Yup – I thought so… Same with me.  I really have to find the perfect project to make the first cut into the paper 🙂  Well, the New Horizons 6×6 DSP collection is one of those truly beautiful packages of paper (in my opinion anyway) that takes a bit of courage to cut into!  I would like to give credit to Karen Henderson of Furry Cat Designs for her inspiration in the card that I’m sharing below.

This was a very fun card to make and to figure out how to design with only one sheet of the 6×6 New Horizons DSP.  I did alter Karen’s original design to make my version of the card.  Take a look below at the way the double card works.  The top picture is the front of the card, and the design carries entirely over the front.  The small card (with the die cut flowers) opens up to the right to reveal “hey there”.  Then the left flap opens and reveals “happiest birthday wishes”.  Too fun!

Here are a few more pictures of each part of the card –

To get the full instructions and measurements for the paper, please take a few minutes to look at this video.  There are some tips and tricks along the way!

There are SO many pieces of DSP that would work well with this card design.  Just think about the bold patterns and colors you have in your stash.  Now, go get them.  Get your paper trimmer and make that first cut.  I promise – you can do it!

The main products that I used to create my card are shown below.  If you click on any picture, you’ll go directly to my online store.  I hope you enjoy making these double DSP cards, and I would really love to see what you make!

Inky hugs,
