Here is a picture of my latest card using the new SU! embossing paste, accessories, and the Delightful Daisy bundle. It was a lot of fun to make!
You may be wondering why I’ve been making so many cards lately with the Delightful Daisy bundle. My husband, Bruce, and I have been on vacation for the last few weeks. I had limited space to pack stamping “stuff”. But, guess what fit? Yup – embossing paste, accessories, and pre-punched Delightful Daisies!! There were a few other supplies that fit as well! I’ve had a blast playing with the embossing paste!
Below is a picture of the view from the front deck of our summer home on the Great Sacandaga Lake in Upstate New York. I feel very blessed and spoiled being able to enjoy this view every day!
Back to the card. Below are step-by-step pictures and instructions for the card.
Step 1: Place the mask over your card front and use washi tape or scotch tape (with some of the tack taken off) to make sure the mask won’t move.
Step 2: Use one of the Palette Knives to put some Embossing Paste on to a Silicone Craft Sheet. Add a few drops of your favorite reinker to the Embossing Paste, and mix with the Palette Knife. Use more reinker if you want a deeper color. [Tip: Store any leftover embossing paste in small container with an air-tight top. Also, put the small container in a zip lock bag to be overly cautious that it stays air-tight. You don’t need much embossing paste for individual projects.]

Step 3: Start on the left side of the card front, and put colored embossing paste on the mask with a Palette Knife. Spread over the area that you want to cover. As you’re getting used to this technique, use a little bit of embossing paste to see how much area it will cover. When you’re done with this area, use the side of your Palette Knife to smooth the embossing paste to the thickness that you want. Excess embossing paste can be put back into the jar for use on your next project.

Step 4: When you’re happy with the results of the first colored embossing paste, move onto the next color. Be sure to use a different Palette Knife to spread the second color.

Step 5: Move to the third and last color using the same technique.

Step 6: Remove the mask to see the magic!
Step 7: Very quickly after you’re done with the embossing paste, make sure you wash the mask and palette knives with warm soapy water. I put mine tools on a paper towel to dry.
Step 8: Make the accent daisy using three stamped and punched daisies from the Delightful Daisy bundle. I used Daffodil Delight ink on the daisies. The middle of the flower is made with colored embossing paste. I wanted to make a center that looked somewhat realistic with a texture. My epiphany was to use a toothpick to put the embossing paste in the flower center and then to add the texture. What do you think?
Step 9: Finish the card with the greeting of your choice. The greeting on my card is stamped with Tranquil Tide on to Whisper White card stock. The trim behind the greeting is a piece of Tranquil Tide card stock. The flower leaves are from the Delightful Daisy bundle using Emerald Envy ink. Dimensionals were used to add the trimmed greeting piece and the flower to attach to the card front. Dimensionals are also used to attach the card front to the card base.
Step 10: Accept the fact that you’ll probably immediately start on making a second card using the Embossing Paste! Just give into it… 🙂
