Earlier this week, my brother celebrated a significant birthday. Happy Birthday, Dave! You’ll easily be able to tell which birthday by the card I made him! Here is the front of the card:
And, here is a picture of the inside of the card:
The Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack is the perfect background for the card. I’ve had a great time using this paper and hope you do as well. The Large Numbers Framelits allowed me to customize the number for my brother’s birthday. I die cut the numbers after I stamped the birthday sentiment with the Stylized Birthday stamp. Then, I die cut three more of each number and made my own cardstock chipboard for each number by gluing the pieces together.
The leaves at the bottom of the card are made from the stamps and dies from the Color Theory Suite. The leaves were stamped on scraps of Wood Textures DSP. Their coloring is from Watercolor Pencils and then blending with an Aqua Painter. Tip: Use as little water as possible when you blend.
The gold leaf sticker is from the September Paper Pumpkin kit!!! Love that kit. I also used the large leaf stamp from the same Paper Pumpkin kit to decorate the inside of the card. Again, I colored the leaves with Watercolor Pencils.
The sentiment and numbers for the inside of the card are from the Number of Years stamp set. The base for the inside of the card is a piece of Wood Textures DSP. The final touch is rounded corners.
This style card could easily be changed to fit any occasion! I hope you use this idea and make it your own.
Below are the main supplies I used to make the card. Click on any picture, and you’ll go to my on-line store.
Happy stamping,
Laurie
