Peekaboo Fun Fold Card – Hello Ladybug!

Spring is almost here – yeah!!!  I have started growing herbs and vegetables inside from seed, and I’m really looking forward to getting my hands dirty in our garden!  Until the temperatures get a little warmer, I am focused on spring themes and colors in the cards that I’m making.

I really love fun fold cards, and I really love quick cards.  This card, I think, combines both into a great design that can be used for any occasion.  And, it’s also wonderful for using up our stashes of Designer Series Paper (DSP)!!

The card below features the incredibly beautiful Flowering Fields DSP and the playful Hello Ladybug Bundle.  This bundle includes the adorable Hello Ladybug stamp set and the Ladybug Builder Punch.

Here is a view of the first inside layer of the card through the peekaboo die cut on the card front.

And, here is the picture of the inside card that features a fun fold DSP piece.  There are so many layers of color and brightness in this design.

To make this card, you’ll need –

  • A piece of 12 x 12 DSP.  Be sure to check both sides of the paper to make sure the colors and the patterns work together well.
  • A piece of color card stock cut to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.  Be sure the color goes well with the DSP you chose.
  • Concentric dies will come in handy.  As you’ll see in the video, I used the Layering Circle Dies.
  • A piece of Basic White card stock for the frame around the die cut and for the inside of your card.
  • Your paper trimmer, scoring board, and bone folder will definitely be used.
  • And, of course, stamps and ink will be used.  The Hello Ladybug punch bundle worked so well for my design.  I chose ink colors that worked well with my DSP.
  • Your favorite adhesive will be needed.  My favorite is definitely Tombo liquid glue.
  • And, have some of your bling ready to add!

Below is the “cheat sheet” to use when you cut your 12 x 12 piece of DSP for this card.

There are three score lines for your 9 1/4 x 5 1/4 DSP piece.  On the 9 1/4 side, score at 1 1/4, 5 1/4, and 8.

Below you’ll find the main products that I used to create the Peekaboo Fun Fold card.  If you click on any picture, you’ll go directly to my online store.

I hope you enjoy making cards with this design, and I would absolutely love to see what you make!

Inky hugs,
Laurie
