Welcome to the April NC Demos blog hop. If you have just come from Sharon Maranich’s blog post, I’m sure you are as impressed as I am with her talents! Thank you so much for stopping by to see my project for this month.
I love designs that can easily be changed for many occasions. Here is a Mother’s Day card that is very quick, fun, and can be redesigned for just about anything – birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy, and more! Take a look at the card.
These cards are made with exactly the same colors. The only difference is the intensity of the color. They start with three retiring colors – Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, and Watermelon Wonder. There are two basic stamps for the card background – one from the Work of Art stamp set and one from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. (Can you really believe that Gorgeous Grunge is retiring??). Take a look at the pictures below to see the main supplies and inks. You’ll also see a picture of the card backgrounds before they are die cut.
The Butterfly Thinlits are the key to the card. I used the middle size butterfly from the set to die cut the butterfly on the front of the card.
The “happy mother’s day” sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. Trust me – if you don’t have that set – you really need it!!
To assemble the card, use a Whisper White card stock base. Add a piece of Basic Black card stock (cut just smaller than the card base). Add a piece of Whisper White card stock behind the opening from the butterfly die cut. Glue the body of the butterfly exactly where it was die cut. Gently curl the butterfly wings.
Now – Go make this card! And, change the sentiment! Make it your own.
Wait – Before you go make the card, be sure to finish the NC Demos blog hop for April. Your next stop is Lisa Tedder, who is a very talented artist. Enjoy!

Laurie, this is a nice card. Thanks for sharing.
Love your cards and your directions are great!
I love how you stamped the background and then cut out the butterfly. Very pretty!
Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful cards with us!
You could use any combination of colors to change this card up! So pretty! And no, I cannot believe they are retiring Gorgeous Grunge. Glad I have my set.
