Christmas Cards from the Nov 2019 Paper Pumpkin Kit!

Didn’t you just love the November Paper Pumpkin Winter Gifts kit?  The designs and colors were so much fun to work with.  I decided to turn the tags into cards.  Hope you like the ideas that I’ll share below.

There are still full Winter Gifts kits available.  Check out the end of this post.  Tip:  You do need to be a current Paper Pumpkin member to order past kits and refills.

These cards were made with Thick Whisper White card stock as the base.  All four corners were rounded.  The inside fold corners are a little tricky with the corner rounder 🙂  A piece of Shaded Spruce card stock is the mat color, with rounded corners, of course!  I used Versamark to stamp some fun snowflakes.  Confession – I did use a retired set for my cards; however, there are plenty of current snowflake stamps that will work well.  The remainder of the card is made from one of the tags from the kit.  I cut off the top loop for the tag and replaced it with a punched star from straps from the kit.  One the left card, the sentiment is from a retired stamp set and uses extra pieces I had from the October Paper Pumpkin kit I’m always amazed at the amount of leftover pieces that I have from each kit!

These cards are made with a Thick Whisper White card stock base.  The mat is a piece of Pool Party card stock with rounded corners.  The tags, turned into cards, are made pretty much based on the directions in the kit.  On the left card, I decided to put the sentiment banner at an angle and cut the ribbon a little shorter on the top.  On the right card, the only change was using the Shaded Spruce ribbon from the kit to make a double bow for the top of the focal point.

This card was a lot of fun!  Again, I started with Thick Whisper White card stock for the card base.  A piece of Shaded Spruce card stock (one of my new favorite colors!) is the mat for the card.  You can see that I embossed that piece with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder.  I really like the wood look on the background.  The sleigh piece was made basically per the directions in the kit.  One thing that I changed was the “rope” for the sleigh.  Rather than using the silver cord that came in the kit, I used a piece of leftover heavier twine from a previous kit to make the “rope”.  On the right card, I also switched the sentiment and used a label from last month’s kit.  There is so much going on with this card and quite a lot of different levels and textures.

I hope you are inspired to make some cards from your kit or order another kit to make cards!  Below you’ll find pictures of the main products that I used to make the cards pictured above.  If you click on any picture, you’ll go directly to my on-line store.

Happy stamping!
