Remember: One stamp set – Three designs – Endless possibilities
Below is the first design that I would like to share with you featuring the Botanical Gardens suite in the Occasions catalog. Don’t you love the bold colors and die cuts? The layers of die cuts in the flowers are awesome and add a great texture to the design. I think the gate fold is a perfect way to showcase this card.
There are so many ways you can take this design and make it your own. How about changing the stamp to one for Mother’s Day and adding flowers in a few different pink colors? The designer series paper colors can easily by changed to match the flowers. Yup — endless possibilities!!
And, here’s a quick tip that I used in preparing this design for a card class — While you’re watching a few favorite TV shows, get your die cutting machine, some scrap paper, and the Botanical Builder Framelits dies, and create your own stash of flowers and leaves in several different colors. I have a tin full of these die cuts that are ready to be used to make cards for just about any occasion.
Here are the instructions for making this card:
- The base is a piece of Hello Honey cardstock cut to 11” x 4 ¼”. To make the gate fold, score the 11” side at 2 ¾” and 8 ¼”.
- Cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 ¼” x 4” to make the front panel. Note: The panel will purposely overlap the gate fold.
- Stamp “Thank You” in Old Olive on the bottom right of the front panel using the Another Thank You stamp set (Annual Catalog, pg 15).
- Use the multi-leaf die from the Botanical Builders Framelits Dies (Occasions Catalog, pg 26) to decorate the left side of the front panel.
- Use the flower, leaves, and fern dies from the Botanical Builders Framelits Dies and corresponding cardstock in Hello Honey, Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron, and black to decorate the front panel as you like. Adhere the finished panel to the left gate fold as shown.
- Cut a piece of the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper (Occasions Catalog, pg 27) to 4 ¼ x 2 ¾. Adhere the piece to the right gate fold, as shown.
