Welcome to the June NC Demos Blog Hop! This month, we are all featuring products that are included in the June Bundle sale. This sale will end today (Sunday, June 30), and you need to act quickly to get an additional 10% off the regular bundle prices. There are several die bundles to choose from, and you can check out the list by clicking here.
If you just came over from Tina’s post, I know you’ll agree with me that her project was really amazing! Thanks so much for continuing the hop and stopping by to see what I’m sharing this month.
Ever since I was literally a few months old, family vacations have included going to the beach. There is something magic about listening to the waves, building sand castles, and searching for shells along the sand. To this day, my family continues an annual tradition of gathering at the beach. My husband (Bruce) and I just got back from a few days at Holden Beach, North Carolina. We had a wonderful time catching up with family and getting to know some of the newest additions to the family.
When I saw the Seaside Wishes Bundle in the new annual catalog, I knew it would become part of my stash. What I didn’t know is how absolutely awesome the products are to work with!!! They are incredibly versatile and just plain fun 🙂 One of the coolest parts of this bundle is the hybrid embossing folder, pictured below.
Below is a picture of the two styles of (essentially) the same card design that I’m sharing this month.
- Each card starts with a Thick Basic White cardstock base.
- There is also a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock on each card.
- The focal point is created by making a mask from the Seaside Wishes Dies and using it and a Blending Brush to color the embossed sand dollars with Craft White Ink.
- The biggest difference between the two cards is the level of distressing on the focal point and the sentiment. I love distressing pieces and had a lot of fun doing both techniques.
- Finishing touches (the sentiment, die cut starfish, and embellishments) are the same on each card.
Take a few minutes to check out the video (linked below) to see step-by-step instructions to create these cards. There are also a few tips and tricks shared along the way!
Here are pictures of the individual cards. The basic design is the same; however, the distressing technique on each card is a little different. I would love to know which card you like better 🙂
Please be sure to continue on the blog hop by going over to see what Frances is sharing with us. I know it will be awesome, as usual! Below you will find a list of the folks who are participating in the blog hop tonight.

Such a pretty card I wasn’t going to get that bundle but your card may have changed my mind it’s just looks so real
Tina – Thanks so much! I REALLY love this bundle. It’s super easy to work with and has SO MANY possibilities. The sand dollars just make me smile 🙂
Fabulous cards, Laurie!:I can’t decide which one I like better. This bundle was a must have for me as well! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks, Tracie! I’m really excited about creating many more projects with this bundle. And, I’m having a hard time as well choosing the card I like better. I think I like the one that “looks like I pulled it out from under the couch”!
Fabulous card, Laurie! I love rhis bundle and the beach, too! I love both cards! Thank you SO much for sharing!
Laurie, great video and I do like how you used the dies for a stencil and the torn corners. Great ideas. Thank you for sharing.
Frances – Thanks so much! I love how we both used the same bundle but in very different ways. It certainly is incredible versatile and just plain fun to use.
