I hope you are enjoying the amazing cards posted by NC Demos in our March blog hop. You have probably just come from Sharon Maranich’s blog. She is an amazing, talented stamper. Thanks for continuing your blog hop and stopping by to see my card.
This is the third card that I have posted this week that features the Rose Wonder stamp set. I also used the Timeless Textures stamp set to create the fun background for the card. There is so much artistic freedom and creativity in being able to stamp your own backgrounds. There are no rules and just a lot of fun! If you haven’t experimented with creating your own backgrounds, give it a try. Warning: You’ll get hooked really quickly!
My card is pictured below. Step-by-step instructions are also provided as well as a list of products that I used to make the card.
Be sure to continue your tour of the NC Demos March blog hop. You will continue to see work from very talented artists. I’m honored to be part of the group. All blog hop participants are listed at the end of this post.
- A crumb cake note card and corresponding envelope (Annual catalog, pg 149) are used as the base.
- The card front is a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock cut to 3 ¼” x 4 ¾”.
- Use the Timeless Textures stamp set (Occasions Catalog, pg 29) to create the background for the card front. Experiment with the stamps in this set and Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe, and Mossy Meadow inks to design your background. Warning: This stamp set is addictive!
- Stamp the leaves from the Rose Wonder stamp set in Mossy Meadow, as shown, on the card front.
- Add a second set of the leaves to the card front. The second set is made from the leaf die in the Rose Garden Thinlits Die collection using a piece of DSP from the Botanical Gardens collection (Occasions Catalog, pg 27). Adhere the die cut leaves as shown. The two-way glue pen (Annual Catalog, pg 156) works well to adhere the die cuts.
- Stamp the outline stamp from the Rose Wonder stamp set with Mossy Meadow ink onto a piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock. Stamp “Happy Birthday” from the Rose Wonder stamp set with Tip Top Taupe in the middle of the frame.
- Cut the frame image using the corresponding die from the Rose Garden Thinlits Die collection.
- Wrap a piece of Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine (Annual Catalog, pg 158) around the middle of the card front, and adhere to the back with tape.
- Use dimensionals to adhere the card front to the card base.
- Finish the card by adding the sentiment. Dimensionals cut in half work well to ensure the sentiment is firmly adhered around the twine.

Great card. Love the background you made.
Sue – Thanks so much!
Thank you for including your instructions. I find that so very helpful.
Michelle – I am so glad that the instructions were helpful. I try to keep instructions for all the cards that I make. It’s so much easier to have something to refer to — especially if I want to make another card similar to the original and just tweak an embellishment or stamp. Have a great week!
That background is great! I recently got that stamp and now I will have to mount it and use it!!! Glad you participated in our “hop.” (Thanks for the kind comments.)
Thanks for your comments! My favorite background stamp set has been Gorgeous Grunge. But, the Timeless Textures is definitely at the top of my list right now. Have a great week!
Beautiful card. Timeless Textures is one of my favorite stamp set in the Occasions and I’m so glad that it will carry over. Love the colors in your card.
Thank you so much, Jo Anne! I didn’t know that the Timeless Textures set is carrying over – great news! Have a great week!
