Welcome to this month’s Stamp ‘N Hop. If you just came from Rachel Traudt‘s post, I’m sure you’ll agree with me that Rachel is a very talented artist. Didn’t you just love her project? Thanks so much for continuing your hop and stopping to see my project. This month, we are all focused on the amazing Sale-A-Bration products that are available. Remember, Sale-A-Bration only lasts until the end of March!
One of my absolutely favorite Sale-A-Bration products is the Blooming Basket bundle. It includes a gorgeous Blossoming Basket Clear-Mount Stamp Set and a fabulous Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The bundle is your free gift when you place an order of $100 (excluding shipping and tax). Below is a fun, bright, easy card that I made with the bundle.
You’ll notice that there is color added to the Crumb Cake cardstock that I used to emboss the Basket Weave embossing folder. I added Tip Top Taupe and Fresh Fig inks to the embossing folder before I ran the cardstock through my Big Shot. Then, added a little White craft ink to the weave with a sponge. The white ink helps blend all the colors on the weave.
You’ll also notice that I added some dimension to the flowers in the basket stamp from the Blooming Basket stamp set. The stamp is very detailed and truly gorgeous. I used several colors from the Watercolor Pencils set to add layers to the flowers, leaves, additional foliage, and the basket. To add a little more interest, I colored an additional large flower with the Watercolor Pencils, fussy cut the flower and some of the petals. Then, I used my bone folder to give the flower a little curl. The flower is added with dimensionals. I purposefully positioned the added flower to allow the background flower to be seen.
The card is finished with Fresh Fig cardstock and put on a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock. I decided not to add a sentiment to the front of the card since there is a lot of texture on the front that I wanted to be visible. The inside of the card is a perfect place to add a sentiment, and stamps from the Blossoming Basket stamp set would work perfectly. They include – “You are Loved” and “Here for You”. Either would be great and would look elegant stamped in Fresh Fig.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will try some of the techniques that I’ve highlighted. Be sure to go to Susan Simpson’s post to see her amazing project.
Below are the main products that I used to create this card. If you click on any picture, you’ll go to my on-line store. Also below is a full list of the all the participants in this month’s Stamp ‘N Hop. Enjoy!
Happy stamping!
