Welcome to the September NC Demo blog hop. I hope you have been inspired by the amazing projects that you have seen so far. There are some very talented artists in our group!
I hope my project this month warms your heart. It is a whimsical fall card that makes me so happy that we are getting to cooler months and closer to the holidays. The layers of card stock with rounded corners and several fall colors give it a little different twist. The focal point of the card is the scarecrow from the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set. He is just darn adorable! And who would have thought that a scarecrow and pearls can actually work together?
I’m sure you have seen many ideas for Cookie Cutter cards since there are two stamp sets with cookie images – Cookie Cutter Christmas and Cookie Cutter Halloween – and a corresponding punch. Trust me – You’re going to want to add them to your stamping stash.
Here is a picture of my card. Below the picture are detailed directions.
Directions for the card:
- The base of this card is a Whisper White notecard.
2. Two layers of color are created with Pumpkin Pie and Dapper Denim. The first is cut to 3 ¼ x 4 ¾”. The second is cut to 3” x 4 ½”. Two corners on each piece are rounded, as pictured.
3. The primary piece of the card is Whisper White cut to 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”. Two corners on this piece are also rounded, as pictured.
4. In the bottom right section of the card front, “you warm my heart” from the Sheltering Tree set is stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink.
5. The upper left and center section of the card front is stamped using two stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge set and Peekaboo Peach and Dapper Denim inks. The intensity of each color is varied by stamping off the ink.
6. The scarecrow from the Cookie Cutter Halloween set is stamped on Whisper White card stock in Early Espresso ink. The scarecrow is colored with markers in the following colors – Real Red, Crumb Cake, Peekaboo Peach, Crushed Curry, and Dapper Denim.
7. The scarecrow is punched out using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.
8. All layers of the card are adhered flush to the left side of the card base, as pictured.
9. The punched out scarecrow is adhered to the card front with Dimensionals.
10. Pearls in varying sizes are added for accent.
Here are the products that I used to make the card:

Super cute, Laurie! Thanks for joining our blog hop this month!
Tracie – Thanks for the kind words. And, thank you for all the work you do for the monthly blog hop!
Very cute Laurie! I love that little scarecrow, and like how you did the stamping behind him, the layering and the little extra touches with the pearls. Really nice card.
Melissa – Thanks so much! It still is funny to me that pearls and a scarecrow look pretty good together 🙂
I love your card. The layers with rounded corners makes a great effect. Thanks for joining the blog hop.
