Meant to Be – Narrow Valentine Note Card

It has been incredibly easy to live up to my motto of One stamp set – Three designs – Endless possibilities with the incredible Meant to Be bundle.  Today, I would like to share a fun, quick narrow Valentine’s Day note card that is perfect as a gift card for someone special.  Take a look at the picture below.

This card is very quick to put together.  Here are the steps to make the card:

  • Start with a Whisper White Narrow Note Card as the card base.  This size card is great for special notes and also for gift cards.  The envelopes that come with the note cards feature a semi-circle flap that can be decorated for any occasion.
  • In the bottom right corner, stamp “To the best friend a girl could ever ask for.” using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  This stamp is from the new Meant to Be stamp set.
  • Use the continuous hearts die from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Die set to die cut a piece of Whisper White card stock.  The die cut is a delicate piece that has many hearts linked together.
  • The frame for the focal point is a piece of Basic Black card stock cut to 1 3/4″ x 4 1/8″.  The focal point, colorful piece is from the amazing Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The DSP is cut to 1 5/8″ x 4″.
  • To choose the piece of DSP that you’ll use, lay the die cut hearts over the pattern to make sure you like the effect.  You definitely want the die cut hearts to stand out when they are placed on the DSP.
  • Use a few pieces of scrap Basic Black card stock, Silver Foil paper, and Gold Foil paper to die cut the continuous hearts piece.  Same some of the hearts that you will have from the die cut.
  • Use your favorite adhesive to attach the Basic Black frame to the Whisper White Narrow Note Card, as pictured.  Then, adhere the DSP to the center of the Basic Black frame piece.
  • Next, adhere the Whisper White hearts die cut onto the DSP.
  • Add the Basic Black, Silver Foil, and Gold Foil hearts into the die cut and also on a few areas of the card.  Adhere some of the hearts directly to the card.  For others, use the Mini Dimensionals to add some interest and variety to the focal point.

You will find many uses for this design.  If you change the sentiment that you use on the card, you’ll have a card that can be used for just about any occasion!

Meant To Be – Valentine Card

As promised, here is the second card featuring the amazing, new Meant to Be Bundle.  The card has texture, great die cuts, and a wonderful color combination.  Check below for full instructions to make this card.

Here are the instructions to make this card:

  • Start with a card base of Very Vanilla card stock cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ on the 8 1/2″ side.  Very Vanilla is a subtle, rich color to use for card backgrounds.
  • The first (bottom) layer is a 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Lovely Lipstick card stock.  Lovely Lipstick works incredibly well with both reds and pinks!
  • The second (top) layer is a 4″ x 4″ piece of Powder Pink card stock.
  • Use the heart die from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies (also part of the bundle) that has a scalloped edge and a straight heart inside die to die cut a heart in the center of the Powder Pink piece.  The die I’m referring to is the larger die pictured on page 7 of the Occasions catalog.  You’re going to find that it also die cuts a scalloped heart frame.
  • Now, use the gorgeous, amazing, beautiful (yes – it really is that nice!!) new Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss the Powder Pink piece.
  • It is very important that you die cut before you emboss.  The result will be a much deeper, cleaner embossed piece.
  • Use the same heart die to die cut the center of the Lovely Lipstick piece.  You will want to save the heart frame for this card.  Keep the heart die cut piece for another project.
  • Get a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock (about 4″ x 4″).  Use Soft Suede ink to stamp the heart and flower stamp from the Meant to Be stamp set onto the Very Vanilla card stock.  You can also stamp the “you make me happy” stamp with Soft Suede ink onto the same piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Make sure you’ll have enough card stock around the sentiment to cut a flag, as pictured.
  • Center the Soft Suede stamped heart behind the heart opening on the Powder Pink piece.  Secure with washi tape until you know the placement is correct.
  • Also, tuck the sentiment stamped flag under the right side of the heart opening, as pictured.
  • Next, take the Lovely Lipstick frame piece and fit it into the Power Pink piece.  It will fit perfectly around the stamped heart.  Adhere the frame piece with your favorite liquid adhesive.

  • Now, you can better adhere the stamped heart and sentiment to the Powder Pink piece.
  • Next, adhere the Powder Pink piece onto the Lovely Lipstick piece, as pictured.
  • To finish the card, adhere the Lovely Lipstick piece onto the card base.  As you can see, I chose to adhere the Lovely Lipstick piece in the center of the card base.

The combination of textures, colors, and stamped images in this card are really a great way to send a Happy Valentine’s to someone you love.  I hope you enjoy making the card.

Meant to Be – Valentine Note Card

This past Sunday was the day for our January Stamp Club.  As usual, we had an absolutely great afternoon stamping, catching-up, and enjoying some delicious snacks.  This month, our stamping focus was the amazing, NEW Meant to Be Bundle from the Occasions catalog.  We made three cards from this bundle!!  Below is a picture of the first card that I’ll share.

Don’t you love the non-traditional colors for a Valentine’s Day card!?!?  The colors are so bold and bright.  They really capture your attention.

Here are the directions for making this card:

  • The base is a Whisper White Note CardThe Note Cards are available in Whisper White and Very Vanilla.  They are great to have on hand.  A package of 20 cards and envelopes is only $6.50!!
  • The base layer on the card is a piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock cut to 3 3/8″ x 5 1/8″.  The “Happy Valentine’s Day” sentiment is from the new Meant to Be stamp set.  The sentiment is stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink.
  • After the sentiment is stamped, the Flirty Flamingo piece is embossed using the Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder Actually, the piece is embossed twice.  Once to have horizontal lines from the embossing folder.  Then, the piece is turned 90 degrees and embossed again to give vertical lines.  The result is a striking linen effect!

  • You can round the corners of the Flirty Flamingo piece, as pictured, if you like.
  • The frame for the floral focal point is a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Blueberry Bushel card stock.  Again, you can round the corners of this piece if you would like.
  • The beautiful floral piece is from the gorgeous set of Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I absolutely LOVE this collection of DSP.  It is beyond beautiful.  The floral piece is cut to 3″ x 3″.
  • Use the filigree heart die from the new Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies to cut a heart outline in the middle of the Garden Impressions piece.
  • Use the same filigree hear die and a piece of Whisper White card stock to die cut a filigree heart.
  • Don’t adhere the DSP piece to the Blueberry Bushel piece just yet.  But, use a piece of washi tape to gently hold the DSP in the center of the Blueberry Bushel piece.  This will give you perfect placement to adhere the Whisper White filigree heart die cut onto the Blueberry Bushel piece.  Use your favorite liquid adhesive to adhere the filigree heart.
  • Adhere the Flirty Flamingo piece to the card base.
  • Adhere the Blueberry Bushel piece to the Flirty Flamingo piece, as pictured.
  • Use Mini Dimensionals to add the die cut DSP onto the Blueberry Bushel piece and perfectly centered around the die cut filigree heart.

You’ll be proud to give this beautiful Valentine card to someone special!!
