Favorite Retiring Framelits – Star Blast

Sometimes I overlook products that are in Stampin’ Up! catalogs on my first, second, hundreth 🙂 pass through the pages.  Then, on the three hundreth pass 🙂 , I finally see the treasure that has been waiting for me.  That’s how I feel about the Star Blast framelits.

The Star Blast framelits are a wonderful set of fun, useful shapes.  The focal point of the set is the framelit used in the card pictured below.

To make the card, I used the star blast framelit to cut out three complimentary colors of paper.  The paper is a mixture of card stock and designer series paper.  There is no limit to the combinations that you can use to make this card.

“Congrats” is added as a piece of inlaid embossing.  That technique is super easy and very effective.  Simply die cut a word (or shape) of your choice in the main part of your card.  Save all the extra pieces like the middle of the “o”.  Die cut the same word from another piece of paper.  You could use card stock or designer series paper for the second die cut.  Take your second die cut word and fit it into the main part of your card where you made your first die cut.  Think of it as if you are putting a puzzle piece into the slot where it fits.  Add the extra pieces back to finish the word.  Below is a picture that highlights the inlaid embossing.

The Star Blast framelit set is still available, while supplies last or until May 31, whichever happens first.  And, it’s on sale!  Check out the details by clicking on the set pictured below.  You’ll go to my on-line store and will be able to add this fun set to your collection.

I’ll post another of my favorite retiring products tomorrow.

Happy stamping!
