Fruit Stand DSP – Double Pocket Card

I have a confession.  I don’t use Designer Series Paper (DSP) a lot in my cards and projects, but that trend may change!  The card below is made with the absolutely gorgeous Fruit Stand DSP.  It is quick and easy to make.  The bookmark in the front pocket features the new Jar of Love bundle which is amazing and incredibly versatile.  Directions for the card follow.20160710_084205

  1. This is a great, quick card to make with any Designer Series Paper.
  2. Cut a sheet of DSP to 8 ½” x 11”.   Save the extra DSP to use later.
  3. Use your scoring board to create the folds for the card.  On the 8 ½” side, score at 4 ¼”.  On the 11” side, score at 5 ½”.
  4. Place the DSP onto a diagonal scoring board with the patter that you want to have as the primary card design facing up.  In the example above, the strawberries were placed facing up.  Put the DSP onto the diagonal scoring board with the 8 ½” side at the top.  Score a diagonal line at the 4 ½” mark in the upper right quadrant.  Turn the page 180 degrees, and score a diagonal line at the 4 ½” mark in the upper right quadrant.  The diagonal score line will be on opposite sides of the DSP.
  5. Turn your DSP over, and fold the scored lines in toward the middle.  You have created the pockets.
  6. Fold the bottom half of the DSP up.  Your front pocket will now be on the right side.
  7. Fold the left side behind the right side.  Your inside pocket will now be seen on the inside of your card.
  8. Finish your card with a bookmark or other paper item in the front pocket.  The inside pocket can be used for anything you would like – a letter, gift card, recipe, package of cocoa mix – the possibilities are endless.

Here is another picture that helps show the two pockets in the card – one on the front and one in the middle.
